The Award Arrived

In June my award arrived in the mail! Here is a picture of the award and its new perch on top of my book case.

May 2023. At the awards ceremony for Writers of the Future, my story “Moonlight and Funk” was one of the first prize winners. The highlight of my week was meeting April Solomon via Zoom. Here is her illustration of Aveen and Tann. The book is available via several booksellers, including Amazon.

FEBRUARY 2023 PUBLICATIONS

“A Thousand Ways to Go Home,” The Fantastic Other, February 2023. Issue #6 called “Mirrors in Winter” is available online. This story is about grief, dragons, otherness, and music.

ANGELS IN THE SQUARE

“Angels in the Square,” published in Not One of Us, October 2022.
This story takes place in Harvard Square, Cambridge in 1980s, and features the revered poet and storyteller Brother Blue (Dr. Hugh Morton Hill). Brother Blue and I met several times in Harvard Square, and I performed twice at his open story-telling mic at the Bookceller Cafe. Click here for their website.
